Mangalore Internet City (MIC) is an initiative of Kanara Entrepreneurs Ltd (KEL), set up with the objective of encouraging, supporting and nurturing entrepreneurship among individuals from the coastal belt of Karnataka state in India.
As part of its objectives, several lead members of KEL hailing from the coastal region established Mangalore Internet City in 2005, to set up commercial and residential developments in and around Mangalore, a coastal city which is a major port and one of the fastest developing cities in India. The vision was to provide a fillip to the economy of the area by the creation of jobs as well as an atmosphere of industrial growth.
